Collaboration with Jo Beal- Travel Sketching on the Road to Rajasthan

Creative Arts Safaris has had the good fortune to travel with Jo three times now, and every trip we have admired her wonderful travel sketching journals.

Recently wandering around Vietnam together we hatched the plan to run a trip based around a Sketching Travel Journal.

And so, our collaboration was born, CAS will look after you, Jo will inspire and teach you.

We want to give you a taste of Rajasthan- mighty forts, picturesque villages, artisans workshops, elephants and help you create a Travel Journal and Sketching skills to record it all. Lots to see, whilst being careful to give you time to soak it and sit and develop your skills.

Jo hales from the UK where she works in Community Arts Management, runs sketching and art journaling workshops as well as working on her personal arts practice. Follow this link to see more of her work.

Jo says ‘I offer fun and accessible ways in to drawing and no previous drawing experience is needed. My art journaling workshops often attract people who have got out of the habit or have always liked the idea of drawing but can’t find or make the time, or need a little boost. Also, those who like to draw when they were younger but haven’t done any or much since, and sometimes people who paint, print or do other things come, but would like to develop their drawing. Those in regular practice will find plenty to stretch themselves in such a new visual environment and there will be many exercises to inspire a variety of ways of looking and creating a journal. What we are offering with be good across the spectrum’. India is a treat for the senses, so non-sketching friends are welcome to join us, they won’t be bored and there will be plenty to grab their attention
