Hi Fiona Thanks for a terrific time in Ghana.  Such a great group and so many wonderful experiences.  I’m still trying to work out what to do with some of the artisan’s work eg the 12 m of narrow weaving I bought !  The baskets all bounced back into shape which was amazing. from RM on Ghana trip

Morocco Tour- we had fun

Its TH here – I was lucky enough to be on your 2016 Rajasthan tour, with my friend S.   I hope that both you and Praveen are well, I have a favour to ask.  am returning to India in January with a Rotary group. My husband R is organising the trip.  We will be visiting Jaipur and I would love us all to go to that great restaurant I went to with you, where the guy was outside in the hallway making those beautiful roti.  I am hoping that you might be able to tell me the name of the restaurant?   If not that one, do you have any others you can recommend??

I often think about our holiday with you and Praveen, amd how well you looked after us all.  It was such an amazing experience.  Its nice to keep in touch with what you are up to on Instagram – thank goodness for social media!!!

Moorish Delights of Andalusia and Morocco 2018. Check out FB or Instagram May 2018 for Happy Snaps.

FW- Aust. Thanks for all the work you did to ensure we had a happy and fulfilling trip, will highly recommend to everyone.

PA- Canada I have come home with an overwhelming feeling of happiness and wonder over my trip with you and the “gang”.  I sent an email to your FB site but apart from private emails I have not seen anything about your Creative Safaris elsewhere on FB.

And I so wanted to sing your praises over the net. I want everyone on MY friend list anyway, to know how amazing your tour was.  Do you have another site where any messages will be shared on FB. Also I did not take a lot of pics myself and want to swipe some from your stash of photos if you are posting them somewhere. OTOH you and Praveen are probably just resting, enjoying being home, and especially not having to troubleshoot for the likes of me every day!!!!I do admire you so much Fiona for being such a good organizer and all round excellent person.

 Hi Fiona,

Thanks for the up date, I often think of my trip to Vietnam with you remembering some very happy and interesting experiences, it seems a long time since then and yet the memories are still clear I did make up my journal with pictures and comments not really very creative but I am sure when I am really old and in my dotage I will look at it and be amazed and what I did.Paragraph

Thanks for some special memories. Chris

From A who joined us on BKT17  Thank you both SOOOOO much – we had a fantastic fortnight and loved every minute of the trip.  Your research really paid off and we were treated to many very special experiences.  We all particularly liked the rural areas with the opportunity to visit homes and hear such inspiring stories especially from the women – Shobnam, Shamlu, and Shoma.  They will all live long in our memories.  You were both such great company to be with too and gave us a lot of fascinating background into Indian life, history, and customs

Jan 2017from JH who has been on many tours with us “N, D, A and I just did our Japan tour[ note not a Creative Arts run tour ], fabrics were so cheap there, should have bought more. The more tours we do the more we appreciate what you put into your tours and how you make everyone feel that a group of friends and cover so many different activities and wonderful eclectic accommodation. The Japan accom. was all businessman type hotels, no atmosphere and you could have been anywhere. “

from J- Ghana 2017 “Thanks again for making it all possible. I enjoyed every moment, even eating grasscutter, although that was something I might not want to try again!

The whole trip ran so smoothly which   was certainly due to your hard work in planning and preparation. My baskets are reshaping themselves nicely and I am about to unpack my beads and fabrics”

“Hi Fiona,

We are slowly getting back into the groove again. I must say, I miss the hustle and bustle and colour, it seems very quiet where we are…. This will give you a laugh. I went into the local Indian shop for spices (I’m hooked) etc. today and sitting on the counter were the very same chapati warmers we bought in Pushkar. We had a wonderful trip,
you made it so easy and enjoyable for us all. The knowledge you shared with us about India is invaluable, especially to those of us who love the history and customs of a place. From a little knowledge comes a better understanding and from there it opens up our minds to even more. We know from friends who have travelled in India that we had it good. They tease us and say it’s not the real deal unl
ess you go up the wall
trying to get on trains and getting from A to B , but as we were told once by an old bushie “ any mug can rough it”, we’d rather do it the way you had it organised, it’s very relaxed”

“Together with Parveen, her Indian tour associate, Fiona Wright shares her joy, understanding and respect of the Indian artisans and people of Rajasthan. The tour was well organised, comfortable and enriching. A taste of the visual, oral and aural abundance that is India. The workshop in Udaipur enabled me to fully appreciate the skill of Indian tie dye, block printing and embroidery skills thanks to the patience of Mr Yaqob and his family. From the past riches of the forts and palaces to the camel ride inthe quiet desert, the orphanage at Pushkar and the glimpses into a variety of spiritual practices. I returned to Australia mesmerised, fascinated and just a little sad that it was all over so quickly
, I highly recommend this” Jacky , 2007 Sydney Australia

  • “I arrived in India feeling quite nervous after receiving so many warnings prior to leaving home. Fortunately Fiona provided plenty of practical advice and after a short time I relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed my tour. I found most of the people we met friendly and helpful, pleased to show us their countryIn particular, the
craftspeople enjoyed showing their skills and teaching some to us. The drivers were helpful and friendly. I saw so many fascinating places, people and things. They have given me so many ideas for projects it will keep me busy for years. I loved the cooking lessons and am hooked on Indian food. I’m planning cheesemaking lessons so I can make my favourite, palak paneer. What a great trip!” C. Cox, Newcastle, Aust. Raj, April, 07
