Romanian Ramble Textile & Craft Tour

Romania is a magical place, it feels like stepping into yesteryear.

The Romanian Blouse is experiencing a real renaissance. Many groups are forming to pick up a needle and learn what Grandma grew up doing.

We’ll also learn some of the embroidery motifs. As well as doll making, another winter craft to share beauty and love through the family.

Textiles and beautiful wood carving adorn traditional houses.

Churches are stunning, small, intimate and painted with Biblical Stories, Easter has many traditions, one is painting eggs. Something we will try our hand at too.

Photos do not prepare you for the beauty of the country’s landscape. It is rich with medieval towns, stunning mural covered churches and the warm and friendly people.

In summertime rural life is busy, it is the growing season and time to soak up the sun before the deep snows of winter.

Food in Romania is all farm fresh and rather generous. It is meant to feed hard working rural people. It is so delicious, you can’t say no. Perhaps you will need to volunteer to go and cut hay??
