Top of a minaret, Samarkand

Some days
You have to be in the right spot and say yes!
Megan and I were leaving the Ulugbek Madrassa, and some guy caught Megan’s attention. He offered to show us what I thought was a broom closet.

Actually, it was the start of the stairs that led to the top of the crooked minaret of the Madrasa.
It is a long, long way up a steep, narrow staircase, and you come to a little peep hole in the roof.

Panoramic view of Samarkand!
Felt on top of the world!

Such a buzz

Amazing really.

Looking forward to next year’s visit already. Check our calendar for dates and details.
