Mrs Thuan who takes us through her workshop from silk worm to beautiful fabric.
Mrs Chi who shows us hemp and indigo in her garden and takes us through transforming them to cloth… we use those very fabrics in our batik indigo workshop…
Second hand textile markets full of Ethnic Minorities fabrics….

A women’s workshop

to call our own for a few days, use their help to make our own jackets… share ideas with their women- it will be inspirational both ways.

Creative Arts Safaris Tours are fully escorted, small group tours that focus textiles, arts and culture and yummy local cuisine.

On tour we like to get our hands dirty taking workshops, exploring locations and culture, in addition to including lots of local experiences.

Our friendly groups are inclusive. They are companionable and well organized allowing a relaxed adventure and great for solo travellers.

Tours include pickup & drop to airport, accommodation, group travel, sightseeing, workshops, and most meals; almost everything EXCEPT the shopping – that is your job.

I'm not a tour person but the Rajasthan tour I did with Fiona in 2013 was just magic. The pace was just right allowing time to stitch things we had seen but I was also doing natural dye samples along the way on a 10m scroll of silk. Days in the Fort drawing and talking to the local people were very precious. The colours and fabrics of Rajasthan shine in a light similar to Australia, so I felt captivated. Indigo, natural dyes, chemical dyes, carpet weaving, beading, kantha stitch are now parts of my textile lexicon. Thank you, Fiona.
