Stepwell

Stepwell Panna Meena ka Kund

 At Amber outside Jaipur.
There is an Escher-like stepwell in Amber.
It was restored by the Jaipur Historical Society back in 2007 or 8 [ I think ] but I can’t find anything on Google.

I have been going back through old tour photos trying to see when the paint was fresh.

I remember it as quite pristine cream and white edges and climbing down to the wate

Next few a group 2015, later ones more recent.
It is developing a beautiful patin
Amazing older or newer….
We always fit in a visit if we are in Jaipur, the whole area around it is fascinating too.

Where would you sit to sketch?
Full on Escher look, or at an angle or at the ancient temple across the road, looking at a porpoise head that has fallen down?
