Fiona Wright
Below is an outdated CV- once I moved to India developing The Stitching Project took up most of my mental, creative and emotional space for quite some time. Going on tour was and is always a breath of fresh air.
First some images of my work over the years
Part of the “Earthskins” series
Temple Memories
The why? of things.
A question I often ask myself-
what am I doing,
why am I doing this,
isn’t there something more important I could be doing with my time?
Probably… but this is the best way I know to communicate my concerns,
understandings and hopes to the world.
I have a deep love and concern for our home : the Earth, on both her tangible and
intangible levels. Through my work I endeavour to suggest there is more than the
obvious view- something underpinning our life. Some type of bigger picture.
As I have the opportunity to travel further afield I am realising more and more our
commonalities across the globe- ‘there’ is only ‘here’ in another location. In my
work I attempt to suggest this- we have a common reason to love and look after ‘here’
as it is what we all have to share.
I work from memories and impressions of places – it is the feel or mood of a place I am
most interested in depicting- colour, texture and image are only part of but not the
whole picture.
CV as at 8.8.07
