Rajasthan- A Tactile Textile Tour…. we love to get our hands dirty on tour, taking workshops and learning “how to”

This is the tour our company started with; an adventure through the dramatic desert state of Rajasthan.

As always our tour has the opportunity for lots of hands-on activities– a goldwork embroidery workshop, Bandhani [tie and dye], indigo dyeing, ideas for a travel journal, a day in our own workshop, stitching with the women of Dastkar Ranthambore, block printing your own scarf,  and a cooking class so you can later share some of the wonderful flavours of India with your friends back home. Design your own wooden printing block before you arrive and we will have it ready and waiting for you at The Stitching Project workshop.

A sunset camel [or camel cart] safari before dinner and gypsy dancing, mighty forts and palaces, serene temples, bustling marketplaces; there is a lot to explore.

As they say- “In India, madam/sir anything is possible!”

Ohh and we are going looking for tigers, tigers, tigers! at Ranthambore, who has one of the country’s best success stories with breeding up numbers.

Creative Arts Safaris Tours are fully escorted, small group tours that focus textiles, arts and culture and yummy local cuisine.

On tour we like to get our hands dirty taking workshops, exploring locations and culture, in addition to including lots of local experiences.

Our friendly groups are inclusive. They are companionable and well organized allowing a relaxed adventure and great for solo travellers.

Tours include pickup & drop to airport, accommodation, group travel, sightseeing, workshops, and most meals; almost everything EXCEPT the shopping – that is your job.
