Handmade Wooden Church at Rogoz, Romania

There are so many things to enjoy and love in Romania, this little Church in Rogoz sums it all up for me.
Handmade wooden church, beautiful wild flower cemetery, breath taking murals, a few nice textiles and the priest, who was there singing, just let me wander and enjoy it.
The Church of the Holy Archangels is one of eight Wooden Churches of Muramures in Romania listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The church was built in 1633, they can date the extraordinary murals to 1785 murals painted by Nicholas Mann and Radu Munteanu from the village of Ungureni.

Beauty is the word for Romania, the countryside, the hand built environment, the textiles and the warm welcome all contribute to that impression.
