In India you always start with the Gods. We will visit the beautiful Lakshmi Narayan Temple this morning. | ||
Over coffee at the Lota Café in the Craft Museum Gillian will introduce us to the techniques we are going to explore during our travels. | ||

In the afternoon we will head over to Lajpat Nagar Cloth Market to look for cloth and haberdashery. | ||

We escape the city and head to a beautifully restored Old Fort. The afternoon will give us an opportunity to work on our quilt and journal skills. | ||
Our Fort is a dreamy place to explore as well. | ||

We will visit The Stitching Project workshop in the afternoon for afternoon tea and a big welcome. We will show you around and get you settled in so tomorrow it feels like home. | ||
At the workshop you will Receive a wooden printing block carved to your design [ we need to receive the pattern by 1 October, 2024]Receive 2 m of hand spun, hand-woven khadi cloth to useLook through our patterns for tops and have one made by the workshop for you.Receive a handwoven cotton scarf to dye in indigo &/or print.Raid the offcuts heap. | ||

We travel to Jaipur via Bagru, home to blockprint and indigo workshops. | ||
We hope for a sunny and warm day so we can print cloth with mud resist and dye in indigo. | ||
Onto our Palace for the night, dinner will be in a local favourite restaurant. | ||

Visit Beautiful Amber Fort | ||
Visit Anokhi Blockprint Museum and the local step well. | ||
Lunch in the Anokhi Café in town | ||
Visit Nila House, they always have beautiful textiles and craft developments to show. | ||

Off to Agra today | ||
Lunch will be at Sheroes Hangout Café. | ||
Visit a silk embroidery museum | ||
Our hotel has a great roof top terrace- might be a good place to work on our textile journals for a while. | ||

Early start today to see the Taj mahal before all the crowds arrive | ||

Creative Arts Safaris Tours are fully escorted, small group tours that focus textiles, arts and culture and yummy local cuisine.
On tour we like to get our hands dirty taking workshops, exploring locations and culture, in addition to including lots of local experiences.
Our friendly groups are inclusive. They are companionable and well organized allowing a relaxed adventure and great for solo travellers.
Tours include pickup & drop to airport, accommodation, group travel, sightseeing, workshops, and most meals; almost everything EXCEPT the shopping – that is your job.
