During this trip we’ll focus on the joy of drawing, playing with materials and colour, and capturing the feeling of a place.

You’ll learn-

  • How to simplify a scene and choose what to draw
  • How to layer different materials in your sketchbook to create mixed-media artwork
  • Creative ways to lay out your sketchbook pages
  • How to work with a limited colour palette to keep your compositions cohesive (and your travel bag light!)
  • How to create drawings that capture the mood and feeling of a place (rather than drawing realistically)
  • How to loosen up and have fun with drawing
  • How to use drawing as a way to experience a place more deeply

Suitable for beginners who want to get started with travel sketching or experienced sketchers who want to loosen up and try out new techniques. You’ll gain confidence in sketching on location and fill your sketchbook with fun and colourful illustrations of your travels!
