Vietnam inspired jacket.

I’ve got a minute to work on my Vietnam inspired jacket.

Red floral cloth, the same used in Green H’mong applique for the lining.

Motif embroidered on the pocket is a White Thai motif representing the bauhinia flower.
I used the disappearing canvas [I used this in a class taught by a Palestinian woman in Danascus, way back when] so much easier than counting threads. 😀

Cloth is indigo dyed khadi from my workshop @the_stitching_project

Panel down the back I bought from a woman up near Sapa.

@gilliantravis I am pleased with how it is going and have ideas for a top next.
Can’t wait to see what our group does when we have workshop time with the women of Mai Chou Women’s Workshop.

Last call to join us to meander, market and make in Vietnam next March.

At Creative Arts Safaris Tours we offer fully escorted, small group tours. CAS focuses on textiles, crafts, arts and culture and yummy local cuisine.

On tour we like to get our hands dirty taking workshops, exploring locations and culture. We like to include lots of local experiences. Textiles and crafts are our passion.

Our friendly groups are inclusive. They are companionable and well organized allowing a relaxed adventure, great for solo travellers.

They include pickup & drop to airport, accommodation, group travel, sightseeing, workshops, and most meals. Almost everything EXCEPT the shopping – that is your job. Help the local economy.
